What's Included (-top-)
All City Tour Rent a Car rental rates include unlimited mileage, V.A.T. (19%) and insurance collision damage waiver (cdw) for the vehicle, valid in Portugal only. additional charge for assistance abroad is : Spain 45 euros, other countries in EU 85 euros. euros are shown as 200 esc. per euro
What's not Included (-top-)
Petrol: a petrol deposit is requested when car is delivered, according to the tank capacity. However we recommend the use of a valid credit card, as a guarantee of the petrol deposit and cdw excess. Garaging, parking and traffic fines. optional extras (see special requests below)
Drivers Age (-top-)
You must be over 21 years and have held a full driving licence for a minimum of 12 months. For groups F2 and K, the minimum age requested is 25 years old. No maximum age restriction or surcharge.
Rental Documents (-top-)
The rental voucher must be presented when picking up your rental car. Link-Car Rental cannot be held responsible for rentals rejected if a voucher is not presented.
Special Requests (-top-)
Child seats: *New laws in Portugal require older children weighing less than 35 kgs and under 1.5m in height to use booster seats.* Paid locally 4 euros per day. Correct amount will be given on invoice. These are mandatory in most countries and must be requested at the time of booking. For older children, it is recommended that you take your own booster seats. Roof racks paid locally 30 euros per rental, are available, and should be specially requested at the time of booking [Not available for groups A,E2,F2 and K].
Provision of Cars (-top-)
Please note that suppliers can refuse to provide a vehicle to any customer who is, in their opinion, unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances your contract with us will terminate immediately, and we will have no further liability to you.
Insurance Exclusions and Excess (-top-)
Personal Acident Insurance is available at 4 euros per day. Non-waivable responsibility is applied for the insurance (cdw) of the vehicle, being 450 euros for groups A, B, B2, and C. 750 euros for groups D, E, E2 and G. 1,000 euros for the other groups. As an alternative you may pay locally 6 euros per day for groups A, B, B2 and C. 7 euros per day for groups D, E, E2 and G. 8.50 euros per day for the other groups. In common with most car rental companies the insurance cover offered by our suppliers does not cover tyres and wheels, you may therefore be liable for damage to these items.
Complaints (-top-)
We endeavour to respond to all complaints within five working days. If you have any complaints or problems with your rental car during your stay, please contact the rental car office immediately (contact telephone numbers and office times are shown on your voucher and rental agreement). Mistakes or complaints cannot be rectified once you return home to your own country.
Mechanical Difficulties/Accidents (-top-)
In the event of any mechanical difficulties or accidents involving your car, it is important that details are reported to your local supplier within 24 hours. You must also complete an accident form by the end of the rental period. Local police should also be notified in the case of accidents and a signed police report obtained. Full details of third parties should also be obtained. Authority to repair or replace a vehicle must be given by your local supplier whose name and contact details are shown on your voucher and rental agreement. You should retain copies of all rental documentation in the event an insurance company is involved. Compensation cannot be considered when this procedure is not followed. A checkout form must be signed on return of the vehicle. Failure to do so may delay the investigation of disputes regarding insurance excess charges.
Period of Rental (-top-)
The minimum rental period is 3 days. Rental days are based on 24 hours. The price is determined by the start of hire. For rentals of over a week, divide the weekly rate by 7 and multiply by number of days required. For rentals of less than a week, divide the weekly rate by 5 and multiply by the number of days. If you wish to extend the rental period after collection of the car, please contact our office from Portugal 0044 1476 592903 and we can inform City Tour. You will then be invoiced from our UK office for the extra duration. If you return the car late, you may be charged locally at the local daily rate which may be higher than our rates. No refunds are payable on vehicles returned early.
Delivery/Collection (-top-)
Service available without extra cost for rentals on the Algarve Coast. A tax of 17.50 euros is charged locally for delivery / collection in Lisbon and Porto. In other localities a tax of 0.45 euro/km is charged. Rent it here / leave it there is free of charge for rentals of seven (7) or more days, between Algarve / Lisbon / Porto or vice-versa. In all other cases a charge of 0.45 euro/km is applied.
Normal Timetable of Deliveries/Collections (-top-)
At the airports are between 06:30-24:00. between 24:00-06:30 a tax of 18.50 euros is charged for each service. Deliveries/collections in other localities are co-ordinated with local offices between 08:30-13:00 and between 14:30-19:00.
Additional Drivers (-top-)
A charge of 17 euros is applied. Please inform us at the time of booking.
Tax (-top-)
All taxes are included except those on any extras purchased locally.
Flight Information (-top-)
For airport pick ups, it is essential that Link-Car Rental is given the correct flight number and arrival time, before departure. If this is not available at the time of booking, please ensure that you inform us of this at least 7 days prior to departure. If the information is not provided in time, no responsibility can be accepted or compensation allowed for a failed rental.
Driving Licence (-top-)
Drivers must produce a full driving licence held for at least one year. It is the driver's responsibility to ensure that he/she has the appropriate driving licence. No refunds will be given for rentals rejected due to non-production of a driving licence. Faxed or photocopied licences are not acceptable.
Number of Passengers (-top-)
Our rental cars are insured for a maximum number of passengers. Link-Car Rental cannot accept responsibility if the vehicle is not large enough to fit all passengers and luggage on arrival if details were not supplied at the time of booking.
Car Type/Suitability (-top-)
Link-Car Rental is unable to guarantee a particular make or model of car. The car shown on your voucher is for guidance only and may be substituted for an alternative similar or upgraded car (at no extra cost). If you are dissatisfied in any way with the standard of the car, you must advise the local supplier immediately.
Cancellation/Amendment Fees (-top-)
Amendments to a booking will be subject to a £10 amendment fee. All cancellations must be made in writing (and vouchers returned) and will take effect from the date received by Link-Car Rental. There is no charge for cancellation.
